Narrated by: Ray Porter
Length: 12 hrs and 38 mins

After reading amazing reviews on audible for Peter Clines’ books, I decided to have a try.
My 1st try though for Ex-heroes (combining zombies & super heroes) didn’t go very well.
In fact there’s only a few books that I’ve taken advantage of Audible’s great listen guarantee…and this was one of them.

But the reviews for his other books were really good, and they seemed a bit different… so I kept with it.

I listened to his book ‘The Fold’ 1st, read my review here.   And I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The genre is sci-fi / Horror.
I didn’t think you could be scared whilst listening to a book, but for a brief moment, I was.
Since the book 14 is written in the same universe, of course I had to listen to it.

And I’m glad I did.

To be fair, it’s not as awesome as some of the other books I’ve listened to, but it is still definitely worth a listen.
It’s very fast-paced, and while The Fold flows like a movie, this 1 flows more like a 10 part tv-series-
Slow at the start, but worth it in the end.
I can’t imagine Peter Clines is done with this universe / story he’s created so I expect there to be more stories like this, but this was already pretty good.

Here’s the publisher’s summary from audible:

Think of Stephen King’s The Mist + the TV Show Torchwood (I think…I actually never watched that show)

The narration is good, same narrator as The Fold, & actually as the Bobiverse series- Ray Porter.

A lot of the descriptions are great, however I only wrote down 1 line from the book – ‘The rest of the week crawled past like a dying man in the desert’
But the writing was very descriptive, and smooth flowing.

I would recommend this book for sure, but maybe listen to The Fold 1st, even though The Fold was a prequel book written after 14.
The Sci-fi / horror genre is new for me, but it’s actually really good.
