So with regard to my Benelli 600, …yes with the overheating problem.
I talked to my local mechanic last week and we agreed that we’d try to put on a simple switch that would allow me to manually control when the fan comes on for the intercooler, instead of waiting for the computer to decide when to turn the fan on.
Normally for my Benelli 600 (2012 model) it comes on around 92 degrees, maybe 94. But it just gets so hot quickly, what you’d really want, is that its on all the time and then its got less chances to get hot to begin with, or at least you’ve got more time until it’s too hot.
Oh yeah and my Benelli does a very convenient thing which instead of cooling down the engine, like at 88 degrees it would shut off the fan, it seems it just does it when its had enough, like after enough time has passed.
Pathetic
Anyway, it’s the kind of Chinese engineering where they clearly did 10 mins of testing within perfect conditions, and afterwards assumed that that would work well for the real world.
Its the kind of half-arsed quality control standards that unfortunately many people associate with China.
That being said, after knowing this I mean a Chinese company bought over an Italian company.
None of those countries really scream quality control, do they? So yep, expectations were not high to begin with.
Anyway here’s the fix, it seems like it was really easy to install.

Wash down the bike, to cool everything down so that it’s easier to work with.

Test to make sure the switch works .. then install

Note. The overheating problem is not fixed, It’s just a lot better.
