So as you all know, there was recently a sale on audible for half price everything in your wish-list. So I went a bit crazy.
Anyway, I managed to finish my last Dexter book… and it was pretty decent to be honest, especially after the let down of book 7.
It’s the first book I’ve had that finished on the word ‘and’. Yes, that’s right, I’m not making it up.
Anyway, I moved onto The Kid Who Ran For President. I highly recommend it, especially after seeing John Oliver’s Last week tonight piece about reading it for the parallels with the Drumpf presidential campaign.

When you notice this, it’s hilarious.
And then I’ve moved onto another book by Drew Hayes (the author of Super Powereds) It’s called Pears & Perils.
To be honest, I wouldn’t normally listen to this, if I didn’t think the author was brilliant.
He is, so it’s worth the listen so far.
I’ve also been simultaneously listening to How Conversation Works , which to be honest, I was more curious to see if there was anything I didn’t know.

To me, a lot of it seems common sense, I’ve been told I ‘think too much’ which means a lot of the things this professor points out…I’m actually already thinking about. However I’m keen to get to the end of it, because if there IS something I can learn…then of course that would be welcome.
In fact, from my experience, constantly thinking about all these things can be detrimental to your conversation, because you’re constantly wondering how others will perceive it. On one hand, it allows you to be very diplomatic, and actually convince others of your point of view, but on the other hand, if you’ve unfortunately misjudged someone’s intelligence, and by that I mean their intelligence is below what you assumed it was, then you can miss out on some simplicity and gains because they just aren’t thinking that far ahead. Sometimes there’s no reason to be diplomatic, because a particular person just isn’t thinking about inferred meanings, specifics of words… all this kind of stuff.
Oh and then I’ve got the Edward Snowden book to listen to. Actually looking forward to learning something interesting with that.

There’s meant to be an advert below which is a link for you to get 2 free audio books….if you can’t see it, ‘allow ads’ or ‘disable adblocker’ from your adblocker software on this website.
Happy listening!

Anyway, I’m off to finish some editing, and get an early night. Apparently there’s a bit of a situation at work and I need to be bright and awake to deal with some sort of potential shit-storm.
