But in all honesty, this book was pretty bad.
Yes, it is 3 hours long, so it shouldn’t be that bad, however somehow you’re still left thinking ‘jeez… how much more of this do I have to go?’ ‘I can’t wait for this to be finished.’
I read the Harry Potter series when I started high school, plus have re-read them a few times over. Couldn’t take the movies though.
But I have actually got the books in other languages as well. Having both the French and Chinese versions of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

…I haven’t got very far in them, but that’s not the point.
Point is, I do really like Harry Potter. But this?.. this was just a filler book. It didn’t add anything of substance.
The only real interesting part was the last 30 mins or so, it’s the running commentary of Reeter Skeeter and Jinny Weasley/ Potter, over a quidditch game for which Krum is playing, and some of the crew from Dumbledore’s army is in attendance.
The book by the way, starts out explaining that this is a book for charity. So fair enough that it isn’t super awesome. But at the same time, the Blackadder movie – Black Adder Back & Forth, was also made for charity, and that was pretty damn decent.
But the point is, is that this is really just a filler book.
It’s nothing to get excited about.
Listenability
Sound effects were pretty decent, although got tiring after a while, and the narration was pretty good too.
Recommendation
Unless you’re a hard-core Harry Potter fan, I wouldn’t recommend this.
Yes, it’s for charity, for if you were only concerned about the charity thing, then just go out and donate.
Is it worth your time? The simple answer is no.
Listen to it…if you’re completely bored, but otherwise, give this one a miss.
