Well I’ve just finished the 3rd & final book in the Bobiverse series.  And it was awesome!

The ending was clean, and the story expanded and progressed as you would expect, but also…unlike many other series came to a clean ending.  The story had lots of potential, believe me… a LOT of potential, but I think ending it at this book was actually a good idea.
This is an absolutely brilliant series.

Read my other reviews for books 1 & 2 here.

But the basic premise for this book is that:
– The Bob’s are trying to get the rest of the people off earth, to other colonies for which the Human race will be able to survive;
-Lessen …to some extent the political squabbles which seems is inevitable in the human race, which is seemingly the ultimate cause for the human race’s demise;
-Battle ‘The Others’  (another sentient & arguably more powerful species who is adamant on the destruction of other worlds to preserve their own life regardless of the cost to other systems/ sentient species);
-Stop the Brazilian probe from destroying more Bobs.
-Find tasks that each individual Bob wants to work on, protect certain cultures, terraform planets, move planets with ‘meteor movers’, create new technologies, explore the universe etc.

If you have no idea what I’m talking about… then I highly recommend reading my review of book 2 (opens in a new tab), somehow I managed to explain the concept more aptly there than in my description for my book 1 review.

I will do a review of the whole series soon, so be on the look-out for that.

Narration?

Awesome.  Ray Porter continues to give a great performance.
Ray Porter also did the narration for Peter Clines Sci-fy / Horror books The Fold & 14, & although he was great in that, he is much better suited to the Bobiverse books.
That being said, I would recommend both those books too.

Listen-ability?

The book’s story is incredible, so of course its great, however because I knew this was the last book in the series, I actually drew it out, to savour the book a little more.

Recommendations?

I’ve recommended this book & this series to many family members, many friends, plus even a few people (House-mates) that I know that work at the European Space Agency, they are the ones that are especially intrigued.
Especially as you reference concepts as the Von Neumann probes, Dyson sphere, & the Casimir effect for power generation etc.
My housemate Alex (working at ESA) will be listening to it starting from next week.
I actually learnt a lot from these concepts, & for sure I’ll be listening to the whole series again, because the story and flow of the story is awesome.

As for myself, I’ll be listening to this entire series again for sure, however I want to give it some time.
I want to discover something else, & then come back to this series & kind of ‘re-discover’ it.
