To be quite honest I’m a little bit scared about the track weekend. Very nervous in fact. Why?
Well because I slid out on the track for the mini-bikes because I was pushing it too much, but if i do that with the real bikes that go 300km/h the consequences are going to be really bad.
I plan to go to Adrien’s place today to go through with him a little bit of the track, and start to place that into my mind. I really need to be thinking about this. I need to get my mind into the right gear.
If not I feel like I will just be wasting my time a bit. I will be spending my time on the track getting to know the track as I’m driving around. Which is fine, but in my mind that time should be spent getting to know the road surface and ‘confirming’ how the corners actually are, how the bike behaves, the elevation of the road, how I’m meant to position myself on the bike.
If I have to add in learning the actual corners as well, I feel like I’m not going to get the most of of my track weekend.
Ok so this is the track, which also has all of the Corner markings as well as direction. (It’s no coincidence that it looks like a horse.. it’s the Mongolian heritage)

So it seems I can’t go to Adrien’s tonight as he’s flying out to Ordos early, but maybe he can help me wrap my head around the corners a bit, and give me suggestions for entrance speed etc.
So, I just drew out the course track, and watched the video with Vincent (one of Adrien’s friends) going around. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWRkzzj-ujk
Its nice to be able to put it into perspective. It seems like when you’re actually on the track some corners blend into others, whereas on the track map it looks like very separated corners.
I’m really looking forward to this whole event.
