The autobiography of Bobbie Brown…..  and who the hell is Bobbie Brown I hear you asking?

She was the ‘Cherry Pie’ girl from Warrants song- Cherry Pie.  Here’s the youtube link in case you have zero idea of what I’m talking about.

Anyway, bobbie brown takes us from there… or just before, through this huge and fast-paced chapter of her life which is full of dating rock stars, including Tommy Lee, bitching sessions with Pamela Anderson, sleeping with Leonardo DiCaprio, getting opportunities, passing up opportunities…..sex drugs and rock and roll….well this is an actual story of how it was like for 1 person behind the scenes.

Honestly I was very pleasantly surprised.

I don’t usually listen to autobiographies, however I was looking at some other audible members’ books which they reviewed because they’d also listened to books that I enjoyed, and they recommended this.

The narration is actually done by Bobbie Brown herself.  You get to hear a bit of her actual character, albeit hearing her later in her life explain things much earlier in her life.   I think she was the perfect narrator for her own book.  She reads it exactly how she wanted it to be read, with the emphasis in all the right places.  She was also enthusiastic in her narration, so…. I think no one could have been better.

Just a really surprising book.

If it wasn’t for other’s reviews on audible I would have never have thought about listening to this book, but I’m very glad I did.

Very interesting to listen to all the things going on behind the scenes in Hollywood, including how actresses and singers were made, (Pamela Anderson & Britney Spears are mentioned here); the intermingled lives of everyone, as well as how passed-up opportunities can send people in completely different directions.

Great to have Bobbie Brown narrate the book herself, it adds a huge amount of enthusiasm to the book because she’s telling it how she wanted it to be read.  You can hear her emotions come through a bit as well.

I even recommended this book to my dad, it’s strange but I think people of all walks of life could appreciate this book to some level.

I normally go for Sci-fi / fantasy kind of books, but I really enjoyed this one also.
