Quick: By far the best book I’ve bought!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Definitely! This book references so many TV shows, video games that we all grew up with, it combines the adventure of all those things combined with the adventure of the character going through the book.
The imagery is great, you can really understand where he is at any one point in time, just as if you were there yourself.
I couldn’t recommend this book highly enough.
I recommended it to my brother and he zoomed through it.
You might assume that only 20 to 30 year olds would appreciate this book but it really takes all ages, its just which references you will get and which you won’t. Either way i think most people will love this book.
What other book might you compare Ready Player One to and why?
Off to be the Wizard by Scott Meyer.
However this is the book that i loved so much that i was looking for other books like this, and then i came across the audible reviews that were recommending ‘Ready Player One’ and let me tell you, they’re not wrong.
This book is far better, yet Off to be the Wizard is still good.
That being said if you listen to ‘Ready Player One’ and then move to ‘Off to be the Wizard’ then you might be bored.
Have you listened to any of Wil Wheaton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Nope. or at least not that I know of.
However I have bought Armada by Ernest Cline, also narrated by Wil Wheaton as I so much enjoyed the first book.
It’s not a continuation of the first book but an all new concept. Either way, I’m looking forward to it.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not extreme reaction, but it definitely made me laugh a lot.
It wasn’t intended as a comedic book, but it’s more of an adventure book, yet at the same time it has it’s funny moments.
I guess there was an extreme reaction…and that was just… wow …this..book …is …amazing!
Any additional comments?
