Story
It’s basically the concept of the TV show of sliders, but with some better or at least more quirky characters thrown in. For example Bo-Bo, a blue fury cute alien that seems to be a masochist who keeps the duos spirits up and provide handy escapes and a bit of humour. And then of course Tesla.
Actually this is the 3rd book I’ve listened to that has Tesla as a prominent and awesome character.

Plus it’s told in a journal to the girlfriend format, which is an excuse to keep it short and to the point.
The story takes cues obviously from Sliders but also from Rick and Morty, even to the extent of teaching an alien that giving the middle finger means peace be upon you.
Theres an antagonist of course, but it’s nothing special however it is an excuse to have some heroic moment and progress the story a bit.
Narration
Narration is actually really good, the other character voices are decent especially Nicola Tesla, most of the book is done in the main vharacters voice.
It’s a decent story for a free book. Just not a favourite. I assume that its a great listen for some people, just not 100% for me.
Recommendation
Mmmmm probably not. There are plenty of good books out there, and this is average. In fact, it sounds a lot like the guy wrote it as a high school, or even university level creative writing assignment and he got thoroughly carried away with it.
So it’s not bad. And definitely a good effort, however there are amazing books out there that is worth your credit way more.
I originally thought I got this book for free, for some special promotion… but apparently it was on sale for 6.95 for a special promotion.. and I would say, it’s probably not worth it for that.
