So every so now & then audible has sales, this is the one recently:

Now when a book credit is normally 15 USD …and sure you can exchange that credit for any book with that, even the 30USD ones, but obviously when the books are cheaper than the $14 it costs for the normal credit… then you should just spend the cash instead. Cheaper.
So, these are the books i’ve bought recently.
This is the only one i’ve started and its a bit long winded, but its all very interesting. It’s as the title says, the secret history of the world as taught by secret societies. But it covers everything from the beginning of time, so a whole bunch of religious stuff… encompassing all the different religions & worked together in one timeline, to talking about the Matrix, rituals of secret societies, realisations from hallucinogens …a whole bunch of things.. its seriously very very interesting. An ideal book that I would recommend to my dad actually because it covers Greek, & Roman mythology and the basic belief systems incorporated therein. And anything with secret societies….well that’s a hook worth listening to I think. https://www.audible.com/pd/History/The-Secret-History-of-the-World-Audiobook/B002V57VYK
A book comparing pseudoscience to real science and giving you the ammunition to argue against hippy nutjobs… i think. I guess I read some reviews & thought it’d be good.. and it was cheap.
So why not? https://www.audible.com/pd/Science-Technology/Bad-Science-Audiobook/B006WRE0IS
This book was one of those recommended books, that they make the recommendation based upon everything in your library thus far. The reviews were pretty good but the narrator sounds a bit limited, but for 4.95…I’ll give it a try. https://www.audible.com/pd/Sci-Fi-Fantasy/Hell-Divers-Audiobook/B01E97TPPA
I’ve had this in my wish-list for ages, but there’s always been books i’ve wanted to listen to before this. But anyway, on sale…i’ve got it now.. and i’ll finally get around to listening to it. It’s a book about hacking & exposing how easy it is to get information from anyway, plus how to remain hidden. https://www.audible.com/pd/Science-Technology/The-Art-of-Invisibility-Audiobook/B01N80UK3J
I’m looking forward to having all this knowledge in my head… but to be honest, i’m not looking forward to listening to them so much. I realise that sounds silly. But it’s like, i’m looking forward to being able to speak French, but not looking forward to all those hours spent studying it.
So even though these books were ‘cheap’ considering how much they normally are… there’s a good chance I won’t be finishing them 1 by 1 and will need some kind of grand escapism in between.
If anyone has any good recommendations for a sci-fi fantasy kind of book… please tell me.
Get a free trial of audible with 2 free books, listen to channels like this for free, & then if you want….just quit before 30 days & you get to keep everything… sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
Update 20th of September
Turns out the sale is still on, and perusing around I decided to get these 2 as well:
I guess sounds a bit like Fred the Vampire accountant, in the way that its about a guy that gets turned into a vampire but is not well respected in the mystical world, and then gains respect by having loyal friends & increasing powers….but yep, maybe the humour not as dry, or even as funny. But for 5 dollaridoos, I’m willing to give it a chance. It already sounds like the narrators voice may be a bit annoying though.

About a girl who spends some time with her uncle, who she originally thought was a boring farmer in upstate New York, and actually turns out to be a Grim Reaper. The story line sounds interesting enough, and reminds me of the TV show Reaper which was amazing, but unfortunately cancelled after 2 seasons. Again, willing to give it a try.
